10.  Give the Material a unique name
  • Properties menu >> Material
  • Material List >> Name: Flame_Mat
11. Optional:  Set to Shadeless
  • Properties menu >> Material >> Shading
  • Enable Shadeless box
  • Because this is a candle flame we don't want it to react to other light sources
12.  Optional:  Make black in image transparent
  • Properties menu >> Material >> Game Settings
  • Alpha Blend:  Add
  • While Animate_CandleFlame.PNG doesn't have an alpha channel, it does have a black background
  • Alpha Blend: Add will make the all of the black (not just the black background) in the image transparent
