Baking Normal Maps -- High to Low Polygon Models

10.  Check the direction of the high polygon model normals
  • Select high poly model
     
  • 3D View menu >> Mode box >> Edit Mode
     
  • 3D View menu >> View >> Properties
     
  • Properties tab >> Mesh Display >> Normals >> Faces
11.  Add a UV Map to the low polygon model
  • Select low polygon model
     
  • Properties menu >> Object Data >> UV Maps >> Plus (+)
Note:
  • The normals from the high polygon model will be baked to this low polygon UV Map
12.  Give the UV Map a unique name
  • Properties menu >> Object Data >> UV Maps
     
  • Double Click to rename

  • I'm naming it LowPoly_UV
