Baking Normal Maps -- High to Low Polygon Models

16. New Image Settings
  • Give it a unique name
     
  • Size: 1024 px x 1024 px
     
  • Color: Black
     
  • Generated Type >> Blank
Note:
  • I'm naming it HiToLow_NormalMap
     
  • You can set it to the size you want
17.  UV Unwrap the low polygon model
  • Select all:  3D View menu >> Select >> (De)select All
     
  • 3D View menu >> Mesh >> UV Unwrap >> Smart UV Project
Note:
  • You can use any UV Unwrap method that you want
18. If needed:  Adjust UV Map to blank texture
  • UV/Image Editor menu >> UVs >> Constrain to Image Bounds
     
  • Select all vertices: UV/Image Editor menu >> Select >> (De)select All
     
  • Rotate: UV/Image Editor menu >> UVs >> Transform >> Rotate
     
  • Scale: UV/Image Editor menu >> UVs >> Transform >> Resize
