Normal Maps

31. UV Unwrap the Plane to ColorMap_UV
  • Select Game Model >> Edit Mode
3D View menu >> Mode box >> Edit Mode
  • Select All
3D View menu >> Select >> Select/Deselect All
  • UV Unwrap
3D View menu >> Mesh >> UV Unwrap
  • Reset
  • Because this is a Plane with one polygon, we can UV Unwrap it using Reset.
32.  Make Normal_UV the active UV Map
  • UV/Image Editor >> UV Map List box >> Normal_UV
  • We uv mapped Tile_ColorMap.png to the plane. 
  • Now we are going to use Normal_UV to uv map Tile_NormalMap.png to the plane.
33.  Select Tile_NormalMap.png in the UV/Image Editor
  • UV/Image Editor menu >> Image List >> Tile_ColorMap.png
  • Tile_ColorMap.png and Tile_NormalMap.png are in the Image List because we used them as textures.
  • If you want to use a different image, use the Open tab.
