Normal Maps

25.  Select UV Map: Normal_UV
  • Properties menu >> Texture button >> Mapping tab >> Map >> Normal_UV
Note:
  • We will use the empty UV Map that we created for the Normal Map
26. Influence: Diffuse
  • Properties menu >> Texture button >> Influence tab

  • Diffuse: disable Color checkbox

Note:
  • Tile_NormalMap.png is a normal map.  We do not want Blender to display the normal map colors.
27.  Influence: Geometry Normal
  • Properties menu >> Texture button >> Influence tab
     
  • Geometry:  enable Normal checkbox
Note:
  • Geometry Normal tells Blender to use the normal map as a normal map.
     
  • You can set the strength of the normal map.
     
  • Range is -5.0 to 5.0
