Weapon Reticle

11.  Position plane in front of the camera
  • Plane selected
     
  • Properties menu >> Object button >> Transform tab
     
  • Position:  X = 0.0, Y = 0.0, Z = 0.0
     
  • Rotation: X = 0.0, Y = 0.0, Z = 0.0
Note:
  • The Camera is looking straight down at position X = 0.0, Y = 0.0, Z = 0.0.
12.  Add a material to the plane
  •  Properties menu >> Material button >> Add
13.  Enable the Shadeless checkbox
  • Properties menu >> Material button >> Shading tab >> Shadeless checkbox
Note:
  • There isn't a light in the HUD scene
     
  • Set the material to Shadeless so the Weapon Reticle will be visible
14.  Add a texture channel to the material 
  • Properties menu >> Texture button
     
  • Select an empty Texture Channel >> New
15.  Give the texture channel a unique name
  • Properties menu >> Texture button >> Name >> unique name

  • For this tutorial I am naming it Reticle
